Firefox for Windows Mobile Screens Confirmed as Real

Earlier today, the Internet was all abuzz about leaked screenshots from Firefox Mobile. The shots claimed to be an update to a Windows version of the mobile browser.

We promptly reached out to our contact at Mozilla, who told us, "The screen shots are real; they and the blog refer to our Windows Mobile progress in real time. We don't have a firm date for Windows Mobile alpha yet."

Visually, the browser, codenamed "Fennec," looks a bit like Firefox 3. According to ReadWriteWeb, Firefox Mobile scores an 88/100 on the Acid3 Test. It also appears to offer a unique take on its older brother's tabbed browsing
