Well, that didn't take long. Windows 7--almost but not quite yet in pre-beta--already received its first security update.
According to Microsoft, the update, currently available as a download for those lucky enough to have their hands on the release, fixes "[a] security issue [that] has been identified that could allow an authenticated remote attacker to compromise your Microsoft Windows-based system and gain control over it."
No one can accuse Microsoft of not being on the ball for this one.
